Warming Up For the Exercise Routine

One of the most important parts of your workout is the warm up routine. It is tempting to skip the warm up because a busy schedule may lead you to fit the workout around your busy day. For best results from your workout, it is best to warm up each and every time before you exercise.

A good warm up gets all of your muscles working even if you are not preparing for an intense routine. It does not have to consume all of your time. An effective workout only has to be five minutes long to do a good job. Warming up is very important regardless of whether you are doing cardiovascular exercises or resistance training.

The goal of the warm up is to slowly move muscles that were inactive, and is not intended to break a sweat. The warm up routine should include calisthenics like jumping jacks, stretching or jogging in place. You may also wish to consider exercises that work on fundamentals like balance and full gait of your steps in order to prepare you for the routine you will be doing.

A good workout builds with intensity and is the best way to lose weigh and maintain healthy weight. Workouts are only risking injuries if you skip warming up. Although you may be tempted to do so, it is not a very wise choice.
