Hot lemon water acts like a diuretic, is this harmful during pregnancy?
I am 21 wks pregnant and have been super sick with a cold. I have been drinking a lot of hot lemon water. I was just told that this acts like a diuretic. Is this harmful to the baby? I also drink a lot of just water during the day. I have a check up today so I will also ask my doctor but I am just wondering what others have learned about this.
Even if it is a mild diuretic, I doubt that it would be strong enough to be a problem. You're also consuming it with a large amount of water, respectively, so any fluids that would be flushed out are being replaced. I would imagine it would be no different than consuming orange or grapefruit juice, except you're drinking a lot less of it.
The vitamin C is good for you.
