My 8 year old niece has an idea. She wants to sell hot chocolate to people waiting in Black Friday lines waiting for stores to open, so she can earn her own money to buy gifts.
Do you think the local authorities or retail stores would have a problem with that?
They may not mess with her at 8 years old but the plans should be run past your local authorities. It is illegal to sell anything without a permit and especially any food or beverages. All it takes is one lawsuit for a customer spilling the cocoa to shut down the family's finances. That's what business insurance is all about. Don't let her sell a single cup without getting approval. Now, "donations" might be a different story.
