What supplement should I buy for fat burning and energy?

I am 18 and want to start a healthy lifestyle. I have just recently started working out and I need a supplement for energy and something that will burn fat. I am 5'3 and weigh 115

Well, A) You do NOT need to burn fat. 115 at 5'3" is very healthy; pretty sure it's at the low end of the weight scale for your height, actually.

B) Are you having problems with energy? Because it could be you're not eating enough. There are several good "calorie needs calculators" online; I especially like the one on NutritionData.com. And if you want to go even more in-depth, try keeping a record of your food for a couple days and plugging it into their calculators; it'll give you an incredibly detailed synopsis of what nutrients you're getting enough of and which you might need to supplement or adapt your diet to incorporate.

Regardless, though, it's always important to at least take a multivitamin, omega three supplement, etc. There are lots more that are great for overall health and weight loss (for those that need it), but at 18 I doubt you've got loads of $$ to spend, so my advice would be to keep it simple. And don't just run into GNC and buy a random omega and multi. Trust me: just because it's GNC doesn't mean it's good quality. Plus, though they'd like you to think they have the best prices around, iHerb (competitor) has them beat, and the selection is better. (I'd say the same does apply to them (just because it's on iHerb doesn't mean it's terrific quality), but just check out the product label to make sure it's formulated well. ("Well" looks different with different supplements; some vitamins are better in gel capsules, others as pills, some taken together, etc. if you have questions about specific ones, message me and I'll talk you through it.)

It's easy to go "overboard" with supplements; try sticking with just a couple and then tweaking as-needed. But don't pour hundreds of dollars into a product just because it's getting great hype. With the right marketing, even the most worthless vitamin/supplement can sound indespenseable. And there's rarely one brand that's SO much better than all the rest that it's justified in charging 3x more than another. Figure out what it is you want, find out who sells it the cheapest (for me it's generally iHerb; if you go with them there is a $5 off code: PIR752)

But please, whatever you do, don't focus on weight loss: YOU DON'T NEED IT! It's great that you're trying to exercise and be healthy, but let that be your focus, not looking like a skeleton. OK?:) Good luck, sweetie.
